Courses
The Barbering Program requires 1200 clock hours of training and takes approximately 31 weeks to complete. You will spend eight (8) weeks inside a classroom, then you will have the opportunity to work on the floor where you will be servicing actual customers and preparing for your state board exam.

The Refresher Course is 150 clock hours of training and takes approximately 6 weeks to complete. For these students, the New Mexico State Board requires an exam that assesses the individual’s current skills. Based on findings of the evaluation, we will determine how the 150 program hours will be divided.
The Refresher Course allows students to get a training and assistance concentrate and earn hours in need of assistance. This program is for people who: are already licensed professionals, Barbers who desire continuing education, or who need to update their current license because it has either lapsed or expired.
The Refresher Course is also available for licensed Cosmetologists that want to obtain a Barber license. They can do so by completing hours in shaving, honing, stropping, and cutting hair; they also have the option of obtaining a dual Barber/Cosmetologist license.
Upon successful completion of the course, the student will be issued a certificate and will be eligible to take the State Board Examination.
